You’ll see a range of new food and service models across our campuses, including the following:
-
Contemporary offerings through expanded in-house services, on-campus corporate catering and new franchise partnerships.
-
More choice – from restaurant and café-style meals to convenient grab-and-go options.
-
Affordable initiatives like $5 student meals, providing healthy, budget-friendly options.
Why the change
-
Our renewed Food Strategy, developed in consultation with staff and student representatives, aims to deliver greater variety and consistency across all campuses.
-
This refreshed approach supports the diverse needs of the Deakin community and enhances the experience of working, studying and hosting events on campus.
Employment opportunities
This strategy also creates on-campus jobs for students and career pathways for hospitality staff, with greater control over training and development.
